[Debian-med-packaging] Bug#806214: tree-puzzle: Package fails test suite

Package: tree-puzzle
Severity: normal

Hi,

when creating the latest package I switched to debhelper compatibility
level 9 which brought up issues with the test suite which is now run at
package build time. I tracked down these issues and noticed that the
results created by the executable are really different from the results
provided as comparison by upstream.

As an example I provided a patch[1] which would enable passing the first
of 16 failed tests by changing the expected result into what the real
result is. In this simple case it is just switching two lines but there
are other cases that are more complex.

I realised that upstream is about to issue a new version since at the
web page 5.3rc16 is available. I would tend to delay the issue for
this new version and start discussing the issue with upstream in case
it will remain also in the new version. This bug is basically to
document the issue.

Kind regards

      Andreas.
