This is what I had updated the watch file to point to and how this topic actually came up :)

The documentation was even advising people who used it to cite the mummer3 paper in the meantime [3], so it seems to have been deemed suitable for some kind of production. Or the betas can go to experimental. I thought it worth at least updating the watch file in git so we can keep a better eye on it.
