thanks a lot.  Patch commited to Git.

The test suite runs fine.  I admit I crafted the patch to let the test
suite of python-cogent pass.  This software has changed severely so I do
not have that external test.  We'll see how it works with your patch
and rely on user response if needed. ;-)
