Thanks, I think this is now a much cleaner structure for managing the 
source code.


Sure, I can have a look. What error do you see ?

When I do this

git clone https://salsa.debian.org/med-team/biosig biosig-debian
cd biosig-debian/
./configure && make

I do not see any error. Could it be some compile-time dependency is not 
installed ?
