Thanks for the hints about the superfluous files, I'll adapt my release
procedure.
configure and some autogenerated stuff is useful when autoconf, gawk is
not installed, so that
./configure && make && make install
just work.
Concerning SF and GITLAB, there is a copy of the git repo at
https://git.ista.ac.at/alois.schloegl/code
If you prefer to work with tags in git{lab,} you can use also the
release from here
https://git.ista.ac.at/alois.schloegl/code/-/tags/libbiosig-2.5.0
