Dear Paul,
Thanks for reporting this issue.

I indeed need some assistance here. As I understand, the issue
preventing the migration of orthanc from 1.12.7+dfsg-4 to
1.12.9+dfsg-1 is that this migration would break
orthanc-webviewer/2.10+dfsg-1 [1].
This incompatibility of orthanc-webviewer 2.10 with subpackage
liborthancframework1 1.12.8 of src:orthanc is a known problem that is
fixed upstream, and for which I have submitted a patch into
orthanc-webviewer [2]. The released version
orthanc-webviewer/2.10+dfsg-2 contains this fix, and was accepted into
unstable on 2025-09-01 [3].
So, we are in a deadlock now: Migrating to orthanc/1.12.9+dfsg-1 first
necessitates migrating to orthanc-webviewer/2.10+dfsg-2, which visibly
requires some manual intervention.
Please could you indicate the proper way of solving this kind of
issue? Maybe by releasing a new version orthanc/1.12.9+dfsg-2 whose
d/control would include an instruction such as "Breaks:
orthanc-webviewer (<=2.10+dfsg-1)" for subpackage
liborthancframework1?
Thanks in advance for your insights,
Best Regards,
Sébastien-
