From information provided upstream, apparently the copyright is
associated to an sRGB color profile and not to the file itself.
I have been chasing the terms of use and I believe that I found
them archived [2]. They read like:
>>> sRGB Profile Licensing Agreement:
>>>
>>> To anyone who acknowledges that the file "sRGB Color Space
>>> Profile.icm" is provided "AS IS" WITH NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
>>> WARRANTY:
>>>
>>> permission to use, copy and distribute this file for any
>>> purpose is hereby granted without fee, provided that the
>>> file is not changed including the HP copyright notice tag,
>>> and that the name of Hewlett-Packard Company not be used in
>>> advertising or publicity pertaining to distribution of the
>>> software without specific, written prior
>>> permission. Hewlett-Packard Company makes no representations
>>> about the suitability of this software for any purpose.

The "file is not changed" statement may still make a fraction of
the file non-free. I'm trying to determine whether those terms
apply to part of the affected file. If not, or if things can be
easily addressed upstream, then it will be possible to
reintroduce the file in the next upstream version.
Have a nice day, :)
