This is not the first time it happened, unfortunately.  I believe last
time upstream also failed to announce this switch (which, by the looks
of it, is effectively a fork) on their README.  Apologies for missing
that.

I'd be totally OK if Edmundo would like to help with the package.

Edmundo, since you implied that you'd need some time to learn the ropes
I'm going to go ahead now and update the package to the latest version,
but please feel free to propose changes to it whenever you feel
convenient.
