This package has a direct Build-Depends on the dbus package. This could
be a larger dependency than it really needs, and prevents use of the
non-default dbus-broker package as a system bus.

For details of how to replace this dependency, please see:
https://salsa.debian.org/utopia-team/dbus/-/blob/debian/unstable/debian/replacing-dbus-dependency.txt?ref_type=heads

Based on a quick look at codesearch, I can't actually see why this
package needs dbus at all. Perhaps the answer is that it doesn't?

Or, if it's using the dbus package to run unit tests, perhaps via
dbus-run-session(1) or by invoking dbus-daemon(1) directly, then a
dependency on the dbus-daemon package is likely to be sufficient and
would not interfere with using an alternative implementation like
dbus-broker as a system bus.

This package's autopkgtest also has a dependency on dbus. If this is to
get access to dbus-run-session(1) or dbus-daemon(1), please replace it
with a dependency on the dbus-daemon package. Or, if the autopkgtest
needs a working D-Bus system bus, please replace it with a dependency on

    default-dbus-system-bus | dbus-system-bus

which would allow either dbus, dbus-broker, or some other implementation.
