Ah, hmm, sort-of -- be careful what you wish for ;-)

FYI Otto, that looked to me like an attempt to get us to apply pressure
in order to get your wishes pushed through, which I tend to take a very
din view of (especially since Sean had explained why not, in the bug),
so I started out writing a reply to this list about how little I liked
that. Then I came up with what I think is actually a constructive
contribution to the bug instead, so sent that there, which is not what
you asked for, but hopefully will be more useful in the long run.
