Package:  geomview
Version:  1.9.4-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I discovered this problem when testing Debian Edu Wheezy with xrdp. We
provide the Debian Edu desktop via RDP for Windows and MacOSX clients
using xrdp.

When trying to run geomview, it just crashes rightafter showing a
window. To replicate, install geomview and xrdp in Wheeezy, log in
using 'rdesktop rdpserver' on the machine and start geomview from the
menu.  I tested using Gnome.

When starting it from a terminal, I got these error messages printed:

  No OpenGL RGB visual available.

I suspect the cause is that geomview do not handle displays without 3D
support very well. I believe it should show a popup stating that it can
not work with the current display setup, instead of just exiting.
