Dear Julian and others,

Thank you all for your efforts on packaging Spyder for Debian. As an
upstream developer and a Debian user, I have an interest in it and
hopefully I'll be able to help a bit.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with that part of the code base, but I
do know that font prefixes are handled in qtawesome (package
python-qtawesome in Debian). I see the current version in Debian is
0.4.4. I believe that the specific error you mention (Invalid icon name
"window-close-o" in font "fa") refers to an icon in qtawesome 0.5.0, so
I'd suggest upgrading qtawesome. For reference, the requirements for
Spyder include qtawesome 0.5.7 or greater
(https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/blob/master/requirements/conda.txt#L34),
for what it's worth.

Apologies if this was already obvious to you.

All the best,
Jitse
