So the best option, as Debian folk, is to stick to PARI-2.8.0 to get only one PARI package around.
A glance at the PTS webpage of the Debian package PARI [1] shows that that PARI 2.8 is not yet in
the radar. A check at the PARI page tells us that PARI 2.8 is in alpha stage: this explains that.
Whatever, guessing that the Debian Sage Team want to deal from now with PARI 2.8, I will contact
Bill soon to explain the situation from our point and to ask if he can bring PARI 2.8 to Debian
(to experimental at least) soon.

This makes sense. As Debian has its own cycle, picking a Sage version
with no development dependency is the best option (by far) from a Debian
point (in fact, certainly, from any decent distribution).
