Thank you for those pointers. Glad to see that there is some action on 
this front.

With regards to the udeb (Bryan asked if that was OK in his packaging), 
the main thing to check is that the shlibs file _must_ contain an 
extra "udeb: " line for other udebs built against libexpat to get correct 
dependencies.

The easiest way to ensure that if you want to generate the shlibs file 
automatically, is to use dh_makeshlibs with the --add-udeb option as is 
already in debian/rules for the current version.
