 Thanks for your report; I second that request.

 Please find attached a series of patches which adds a -dbg package (3rd
 patch) and also fixes a couple of important issues in the debian/rules
 python related parts (first two patches).

 I'm also attaching a last patch which would bring the package in sync
 with Ubuntu; it would be nice if you could carry it as well.
