I think converting from SVN to git now, and moving to salsa once there 
is more certainty, is the way forward.

Thanks for doing this!

I compared with https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debichem/packages
and I see at least gelemental, gperiodic and qutemol which I worked on 
recently, but did not remove from SVN.  Do I need to remove them from 
SVN, or can you simply skip them?
