Hi Graham,

I sent a pull request[1] to fix the compile issue (basically, qutemol was 
using a long-deprecated API for wxGLCanvas that was finally removed in wx 
3.2).

However, after fixing that, qutemol runs into another problem, which is 
basically that wxWidgets 3.2, which is compiled to use OpenGL EGL, is 
incompatible with glew, which is compiled to use OpenGL GLX.  This is 
documented in this bug[2] and still needs to be sorted out.
