That would be better, thank you, but still not suitable for my needs. I
would be anyway glad to test whatever version you need me to ;-)

I still think that changing the world is possible: if we carry an
upstream Git repository *untouched* (except for tags) with everything
Debian-related in a separate branch, then we can even try to convince
upstream to include our packaging work. Note, this is different than
having the debian/ folder in the upstream sources.
