Hi all,

I am here to talk you about a project sharing the Freedombox goals while
being compatible with it. Its name is Newebe. It is a distributed social
network based on self hosting. As you understand, each Newebe user owns
its instance of Newebe. The way it works is simple : an instance is
located behind an URI which serves as the descriptor of a contact. Each
Newebe node is connected directly to its contact via this URI : no third
party is involved. About the code, Newebe is a free software based on
other free softwares, so you know what it do. It has been tested on ARM
Debian and works fine with it.
Moreover, every data stored inside Newebe are accessible through a REST
API. That means you can connect home made tools to your Newebe to reuse
or analyze your personal data : by centralizing your data "at home",
Newebe allows more than preserving privacy.

About the project situation, actually the software works well but its
security is far from be good. Once this problem will be solved we would
be glad to be part of the freedombox software list.

PS : Any advice/remark/audit/contribution about Newebe is welcome :).
