Unfortunately, no. This is about as far as I got:

root at freedombox:~# rmmod uap8xxx
root at freedombox:~# modprobe libertas
root at freedombox:~# dmesg | tail
...
cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain
root at freedombox:~# ifconfig wlan0 up
wlan0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

Maybe if someone else knows more about debugging wifi drivers, they can
help point us in the right direction.
