Last resort is to pull out the SD card (or Qemu/VirtualBox image) and
work on it:

mount /dev/sdX2 /mnt

cp /usr/bin/qemu-arm-static /mnt/usr/bin
(if FBX is on foreign architecture)

mount -o bind /proc /mnt/proc
mount -o bind /dev /mnt/dev
mount -o bind /dev/pts /mnt/dev/pts
mount -o bind /sys /mnt/sys

chroot /mnt

apt-get remove libpam-abl
(will remove freedombox-setup also)
(or simply downgrade)

exit

umount /mnt/proc
umount /mnt/dev/pts
umount /mnt/dev
umount /mnt/sys
umount /mnt
