This is where we disagree, Ben. That definition is most certainly
_not_ the only thing that matters. Placed next to the facts, its
really very trivial and dishonest. Its probably the least important
thing to bring to the table. Personally, I couldn't care less what
Debian says, only what they do. Again that includes the project, the
distribution, the system, and whatever other obfuscating definitions
you could come up with.

Debian has spent more time and effort building up a fully functionally
free system then any other distribution with which I have worked.
Which isn't to slight projects like gNewSense, Parabola, et al.,
because I see them as extensions of the work that started with Debian.
Even if this collaboration fails to achieve what I hope it could (and
doubt that it will) I *still* want to see Debian thrive. With or
without contrib and nonfree. But I'll say its a nonfree distribution.
Because it is.

Right now my primary focus is on some urgent threats to everyone's
privacy and freedom. AFAIK, Debian parts are going to be moving the
projects that are meant combat those threats, so it is inevitable that
I will be looking at and working with Debian. I _want_ Debian to
succeed, but I also want honesty, of which I haven't seen enough yet.
