My point is than on mandriva, whatever version, whatever arch, 'urpmi
fusioninventory-agent' is enough to install latest version once you
configured one additional media, if not already done.

And starting from 2010.1, you don't even need an additional media to get
the latest version that was available at distribution release time.

In both case, I don't think downloading and unpacking a prebuilt, which
is only possible for one specific version and architecture, is any quicker.
