Hello Shawn,

I'm Gonéri Le Bouder from the FusionInventory project. We met during LinuxTag.
I was with Walid, my coworker from the GLPI project.

FusionInventory is an agent used to collect information from a computer from a
computer and push them in a remote server. It can also produce a local XML
inventory file that you can later parse and import if needed.

We believe FusionInventory can be an interesting option for OTRS::ITSM because
the software is written in Perl just like OTRS and we already support
a large base
of operating system.

Here you can find some example of inventories done on various machines:

We are working on some interesting topic like:
 - an Android agent mostly finished, iPhone is next
 - VMware vCenter/ESX/ESXi remote inventory, which is already released on CPAN.

We are also doing some under the hood changes:
 - improving the tests-suite
 - adding REST/JSON support

Best regards
