There is usually no reason to run the agent as a daemon, and that's just 
a waste of resources. See 
http://www.fusioninventory.org/documentation/agent/usage/ for details.

Run the agent interactively, and see stderr for details.

BTW, 2.1.14 release is outdated (february 2012), current version is 
2.3.16. Don't expect much support from this list with this version.
