[Fusioninventory-user] Doubt

Hi,

you didn't answer to that question: "Also what is the system you're running the agent on ? What's also that system version ?"

You can try disabling the Maintenance task but I don't see how it could slow down the inventory runs. To disable the task, use "no-task" option, setting it with "Maintenance". Under win32, just edit the option in the registry otherwise on other systems you need to edit the config file.

5 minutes is still a very long run ! Of course 15 is a lot more... Is the system heavyly loaded while the agent runs ?
Try to enable the debug option, you should see then which task is really long and eventually which Inventory task module can be too slow.

Let me makes some asumptions as you said nothing about your system... You're running the agent on win32, maybe in a VM without enough resources. On such systems, I still saw the inventory can take a very long time doing WMI calls especially while doing software inventory and many system hotfixes has been installed (on old very old systems). My though is your inventory duriation won't be reliable in the meantime on heavy loaded systems and you should check the duration at different periods.

You can even as a try to not inventory softwares setting the "no-category" option to "software" to see if it's shorten the inventory duration.

Also give a chance to the 2.4.2 agent which was released in october.

Well,
I have this problem, when I use Fusion Inventory Agent 2.4.1 has this problem and I can't stop this service. Show empty Operation System and Name of computer on GLPI.

I look the machines with 2.4.0 version +- complete your inventory 5 minutes and version 2.4.1 +- complete 15 minutes with problem in xml on agent and server too. But 2.4.0 don't has this problem.

# Initial Solution.
I need to kill first, I Rollback instalation 2.4.0, because approved b y company and work fine. But how atm in the company several machines with 2.4.1 version, I need to find a solution.

Then I think, Can I disable " Maintenance task " Service?

Hi,

Maintenance task is a new task which only purpose is actually to cleanup some Deploy tasks temporary spaces.

If you don't need Deploy task, you may disable it and the Maintenance task should also be disabled, at least with latest 2.4.2 FusionInventory agent.

Btw what do you exactly mean by "the fusioninventory agent is slow" ? What is your timing reference ?
Also what is the system you're running the agent on ? What's also that system version ?
