Initial Comment:
My compiler is:
gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20070925 (Red Hat 4.1.2-33)

When compiling 'minicom-2.3-rc1' I got an error with 'src/window.c' because of the variable 'BC' is undefined.  It compiles by adding 'extern int BC;' to the top of the file.
