when running minicom on a unicode capable console, the graphical characters are completely messed up, since minicom doesn't know about unicode. Don't know exactly if this would have to be fixed in ncurses?

Hello.
I can confirm the issue is still present in minicom-2.6.2.
Even the -8 raw mode doesn't work like expected. The issue is dependent on the combination of locale settings of the local & remote terminal.
