Minicom 1500000 8n1 bug

According to https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=minicom 
18.04 and 20.04 run basically the same variant of minicom.
I would rather suspect the Linux and thus the kernel driver of the device
has changed and is causing the differences. Could follow this path?
