Apparently, some AFNI 3dSkullStrip options used by FSL (-use_edge) do
not work on Debian due to license restrictions, see post by Daniel Glen
of NIH below. Is there a way to know a priori what other bits don't work
as well?

The error you are running into is caused by using the Debian package
from Debian's distribution. That version limits certain parts of the
software because of licensing issues. To get around this issue, it's
probably easiest to download a binary package from our site instead or
just the 3dSkullStrip program by itself. You might also try skull
stripping the anatomical and EPI datasets separately and calling the
script with "-anat_has_skull no" and "-epi_strip None".
