Indeed, you'll probably miss the most important things (transients, sags
and surges) if the UPS hardware is not capable of latching these values by
itself. As such, I don't think we should not report these if they don't
come from the UPS itself and I would be in favor of removing this from
these drivers.

A UPS is not a power quality monitor and should not be used as such.
