OpenSSL is FIPS-certified. See
http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140val-all.htm
(cert 1111 in general, RHEL 5.4 cert 1320, etc).
In any case, if you run into any problems I'm to blame for
nss_compat_ossl. It's been a while since I worked on it so I'm a tad
rusty but ping me if you need help.
