If the hid_close call in the oops message is triggered by opening the
device and detaching the kernel driver, then the problem mentioned in
the above thread would not have come into play yet. (The problem
reported by Peter also appears to have been fixed in v2.4.0-pre1 and
later, but Arjen would know more about that.)
