well, no luck.

just to be sure: have you removed the USB cable prior to do the serial tests?
otherwise please try again with the USB cable removed.

else, you may want to try the powercom driver, that is known to work
with some Socomec units.
finally, if none of these work, you can either ask your provider to
change for a NUT supported unit, or contact the manufacturer...
