I've got some USB-learnin' to do.

I'll take the ugen "device not configured" errors over to a FreeBSD list 
and see what I can find.  I'm also trying to contact the poster from the 
thread you referenced about similar ugen/libusb problems.  His published 
email bounced, maybe I can catch him on his domain contact...
