No I just meant that I could not communicate to my APC UPS unless I had the config in hyperterminal the way I stated, and it would not respond to any command until I sent “Y”.

I realize you aren’t the owner of the content rkroll is but his contact me link is dead.  I got my UPS working just fine so this isn’t a help me email.  I just wanted to mention a few things that could be updated on the page.  I have a APC model 2200 and to communicate with it serially I needed to have the following config on my COM port: 2400 bps/8N1 with a flow control of Xon/Xoff.  The link above does not mention that last part.



Another thing I learned is that for me at least, my UPS wouldn’t talk to me at all until I sent it the “Y” command.  I must send this every time the UPS is turned off and then back on, or else it will return no communication.



Didn’t know if you wanted to add this information to that page or confirm it to anyone else.  Thanks again.
do you mean that you have problems running the apcsmart driver?
