This thread is about the fact that APC are now using a control protocol 
called Microlink on some UPS's (with more to follow), which they have 
expressly stated they will not make available. The link in my previous 
mail explains this and is written by the apcupsd maintainer.

Comments from same indicate that this protocol is not going to be easy 
to reverse engineer.
