I don't know much of anything else than Eaton (Powerware and especially
MGE).
so I'm cc'ing the NUT user list since some people might have the answer.

I found that strange: can't the frequency be set once for all? or through
some jumpers?

something that might help people to give you an answer is the driver you use
(ie the port: serial or USB).
you may also contact your reseller about that. or return it and get an Eaton
unit. at least, you won't be bothered with such problems, and you'll be
supporting NUT ;-)
