This may be due to the fact that we reconnect, instead of retry on  
many signs of problems in the usbhid-ups driver. For many UPS devices  
connected through USB, this may be the only solution to be able to  
talk to them again.

Reconnecting requires reading lots of data from the UPS (sometimes  
hundreds of reports) and if reading one report fails, it may trigger  
another reconnect. If the connection to the UPS fails regularly, this  
may mean that we will never be able to establish a connection.
