I was playing around with different options.

I did use these:

./configure --without-serial --without-neon --without-powerman 
--without-wrap --with
out-ipv6 --with-usb --with-drivers=usbhid-ups --with-hal --with-user=ups 
--with-group=nut

I may NOT have tried it before using VirtualBox though.
