Although the output of 'usbhid-ups' shows something which vaguely  
looks like a report descriptor, I don't think it is valid/used. Most  
likely, this is either a 'krauler' type megatec implementation, or  
some other proprietary USB to serial implementation. You could try if  
the blazer_usb driver is able to come up with some useful debugging  
output (see 'man 8 blazer'). You may wish to override the default  
subdriver to see if that makes any difference.

The best thing to do, would be to trade these units in (see also the  
reply from James Walker) and buy a UPS that offers better support. The  
fact that the vendor was too cheap to use a real USB  
vendorid/productid speaks volumes about these devices. You should be  
able to find supported devices for (far) less than US$ 100 a piece  
nowadays.
