I should have added: supported by the usbhid-ups driver (so USB only).

this is not a big issue, and probably due to the 2.4.3 driver.

Could you please try usbhid-ups in 2.6.0, and report back if everything is ok.
Since SmartUPS LCD is not in the compat. list, I would appreciate, if
it works, that you send the "new report" information:
