Changing to ugen definitely made a difference but still doesn't talk to the ups with vendor = 0764 and port = auto in ups.conf :
# rem_drv ugen
# add_drv -i '"usb764,501.1"' -m '* 0666 ups ups' ugen
# usbhid-ups -a cyberpower -DDD -u ups
Network UPS Tools - Generic HID driver 0.37 (2.6.5)
USB communication driver 0.31
   0.000000 debug level is '3'
   0.000414 upsdrv_initups...
   0.002435 Checking device (0764/0501) (/dev/usb/764.501/0)
   0.004192 - VendorID: 0764
   0.004225 - ProductID: 0501
   0.004249 - Manufacturer: CP1500PFCLCD
   0.004280 - Product: CRCA102-3I1
   0.004306 - Serial Number: CPS
   0.004333 - Bus: /dev/usb
   0.004357 Trying to match device
0.004409 Device does not match - skipping
0.004458 No appropriate HID device found
0.004487 No matching HID UPS found

However after I removed the vendor it worked like a charm.

Big thanks!

Georgi
