I don't have a fix for 2.7.4, but it does look like the issue you linked earlier (https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/439  )fixed in 2.8. 
Not sure how easy/hard updating NUT on a Synology NAS and Openmediavault system is and I don't think most default repos have 2.8 yet, but seems like 2.8 would fix.
