[Nut-upsuser] Upssched 100% CPU

Am i the only user who has no glue about how to build a new version for my
system?

I’m running on Raspberry GNU/Linux (bullseye) v 11, which might be similar
to your system?

Sounds as if it is not a big issue to download the version and build it and
install it.

Is there anybody out there who might be able to give me a kickoff, how to do
that?

Have found various built versions here at Binary packages - Debian packages

https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=nut

but using 2.8.0.7 did install the newer nut, but nut-client and nut-server
were again 2.7.4.

using nut-client and nut-server standalone and of newer versions did refuse
to install

Thanks for the tip.

I had downloaded a prerelease source version of NUT 2.8.1, built and
installed it. Evidently there was an issue with upssched consuming 100% CPU.

I downloaded the current release and the issue has been resolved. Updating
all 3 systems.

I have no first hand knowledge of this issue, but in the change log
for the 2.8.1 release:

https://networkupstools.org/historic/v2.8.1/docs/release-notes.chunked/NUT_R
elease_Notes.html#_release_notes_for_nut_2_8_1_what_8217_s_new_since_2_8_0

A bug in upssched was discovered and fixed, where it ran a
tight loop stressing the CPU; it was presumably introduced
     between NUT v2.7.4 and v2.8.0 releases [#1964, #1965]

I expect your Debian 11 Pi OS does not have 2.8.1, so maybe try that
version?

Thanks,
Andy
