Makes sense then.  Go for it.

As for the bug tracker, if you think it's being poorly utilized, then 
empirically, it's not useful.  So junk it.  It might be worthwhile to 
transfer a static version of it though to a github wiki page or something. 
Just so a record of already discovered bugs/requests exists.
