What is the status of IDLE support?

Howdy,

I have the old offlineimap before the maintainer change, and the first cut
of the IDLE support patches that were removed just before the last release
by John Goerzen since imaplib2 back then wasn't too stable and tended to hang
sometimes.

I have some workarounds to use it anyway, but I'd love to switch to more
current and stable code.
I just went through the new list's archives (I only was on the old list up
to now) and see that the patches have been submitted slowly but from what I
understand, while IDLE isn't in the stable release yet, it should be soon.

Is that correct?
