OK, glad it fixes things. The previous way of doing things is highly
fragile and definitely broke things and this patch fixes it and makes it
more robust, so I agree that we should be including it in the next
release (patch was against next).
After that has gone in, I recommend to do a very quick -rc cycle before
releasing the next stable. We have 2 critical bug fixes in the
unreleased code already.

Nah, a whole bunch of people is using it. Mostly syncing from Gmail I
suspect ;-). They are all just scared by the code :).
