Actually what I would do, is to use several base directories for the
local maildir and sync each account without any nametrans rules at all.
If you set the mailbox divider to "/" in that maildir, you can have an
IMAP server slurp them in altogether or something like this.
~/mail
~/mail/server1/
~/mail/server1/INBOX/...
~/mail/server2/
~/mail/server2/INBOX/...
and set ~/mail/server1/ as base dir for the first account and
~/mail/server2/ for the second.
