Merge the fixes that we're using on Debian currently.
Of course, it's not intended to be release with 1.8.0.
Do a brief look at:

Right.
What the rest of people think about we do all those releases from
darcs branches? I would like to avoid keep using Subversion for Parted
otherwise we need to monitor both and merge between both every time.
Personally I would like to start a 1.8.x branch and start to push
fixes there.
